The Carriage
The carriage is like a typical forklift because the lifting attachment could be tilted forwards and backwards from its horizontal. The tilt which is possible on this equipment exceeds more than that of the vertical masts. There are different kinds of available lifting attachments, and this ability to position makes them as efficient as possible.
The majority of telehandlers can tilt forward to a point where the carriage is actually parallel with the ground believe it or not! Additionally, a lot of units offer rotating carriages also. This enables the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being able of being tilted backwards and forwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity fairly similar to that of the vertical mast unit. The unit's overall capacity would be dependent on things like: the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable and boom extension and angle, whether the unit is lifting on rubber tires or on outriggers. Also, which lifting attachment plays a very important part, as does the wind, the grade the equipment is operating on et cetera. All of these specifics can be changing constantly and this gives the operator a lot more information to take into account.
Normally, telehandlers have some load charts available in order for the operator to reference so they could determine the load capacity of a certain lift. Depending on the boom's configuration and the model in particular, the load capacity may vary by thousands of pounds all together.
