In the year 1966, Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries. During that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift that functioned on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to raise and lower the hoist. This device greatly impressed lots of clients and hence, the name was established.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, since the demand for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, when the demand for new machinery to meet many applications grew, the company made itself recognized in numerous new markets. Like for example, Genie went into production with stick booms, telehandlers, articulated booms, light towers and man-lifts.
Because of the economic downturn during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to secure a partner who had the same values. They partnered up together with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers throughout the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the first few years following the sale. Thus, all Genie machinery continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also dedicated to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on providing exceptional support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line equipment.
The Bi-Energy and DC machines offered by Genie provide emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work settings. Where the equipment has to be driven significant distances, such as in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC machinery with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach, compared to any of the different aerial platforms. These machines are ideal for limited access areas or small areas in all kinds of settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These machinery provide the drive speed and supreme traction you require in order to travel around the job area and work site.
