Audible Devices - Back-Up or Motion Alarms:
Motion alarms and backup alarms are audio device accessories that produce enough sound so that the sound is heard overtop the noises generated from the forklift itself.
The sound has to be readily discernible from other audible devices or sounds in the work setting. Sound should be readily discernible from other sound or audible devices in the work area. The audible device can end up contributing to OSHA noise limitation and to employee noise exposure; thus, care has to be taken.
Determine the direction and distance the sound of the audible device is made more difficult because of the use of hearing protection. Audible devices could occasionally get disabled from operators and employees since they could find them really annoying. Furthermore, audible devices could also be objectionable to nearby residents.
Additional Operator & Application Options:
Enclosed Operator Cabs: Operator enclosed cabs help to protect the operator from the elements. They use tempered glass in order to avoid injuries.
