Types of Aisles
Narrow Aisle and Wide Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the types of aisles they have been designed to operate in. These machinery are able to turn in an aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn in the aisle. There are some aisle widths to take into account with different models.
Very Narrow Aisle or VNA trucks operate in less than 6 feet areas and often utilize specific guidance systems such as wire, optical or rail systems in order to travel in the aisles. Some different models of VNA trucks consist of Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are popular kinds in tight retail areas and in some storage and warehouse situations.
Narrow Aisle or NA trucks are able to work within aisles that are 8 feet to 10 feet. Normally these are stand-up units like Reach Trucks. They are often utilized in warehouses and storage facilities.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work in aisles that are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The "Ergomat" padding on stand-up models provide padding on a sloped floorboard. These features are designed to reduce operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the driver is really big and has an 8" low step height that helps reduce overall body exhaustion by easing frequent exit and entry. The model consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb vibration and shocks caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest as well as a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and therefore more productive while limiting fatigue.
